About Karen:
Who is Karen Dancy?
Karen Dancy is a proud DPCDSB graduate and parent of two DPCDSB graduates, as well as an experienced Brampton parent and Catholic school community advocate. She is running for DPCDSB Trustee to put students first, strengthen Catholic education, support safe and respectful schools, ensure responsible leadership, and give families a stronger voice.
Karen’s Vision for Our Schools:
Every priority below reflects what I’ve heard from parents, students, and educators across our wards.
This is what I’ll stand for as your Trustee. Rooted in Faith, our Catholic schools are more than places of learning, they’re communities built on shared values of compassion, service, and faith. I’ll work to ensure our Catholic identity stays central to everything the board does, from classroom life to board-level decisions, so our schools continue forming students in both mind and spirit.
Safe Schools for Every Student.
No child can focus or learn if they don’t feel safe. I’m committed to strong, consistently enforced anti-bullying policies, better support for students and staff to report concerns without fear, and real follow-through when issues are raised. Policies are not just points on a piece of paper.
Equal Opportunity for Every Student.
Every student deserves to be seen, valued, and given a fair chance to succeed, regardless of gender. I’ll push for equitable access to programs, sports, and leadership opportunities across our schools, so no student feels limited by anything other than their own potential.
As your Trustee, I will:
- Champion our Catholic identity and values in every board decision
- Strengthen anti-bullying policies and hold schools accountable for enforcing them
- Advocate for equal access to programs and opportunities for all students, regardless of gender
- Keep communication open between parents, schools, and the board
- Be a visible, responsive presence in Wards 7, 8, 9 & 10 — not just at election time
Accountable to You.
As your Trustee, I want to be genuinely reachable by parents, students, teachers, and every Catholic member in our communities. You know your children and your schools best, and your voice should shape the decisions that affect them. I’ll keep clear, open lines of communication between home, school, and the board, and I’ll show up.
Signed, Karen Dancy
